Doesn’t matter who you are, Kelly Holmes, Peter Kay, Sunday league footballer, new mum, everyone is made equal by the rower and ski erg.
Sure, some people will cover more distance, have better technique and maybe sweat less but the equipment remains the same no matter who uses it. No extra weight plates, no fancy accessories, just the same – quiet, menacing and often unloved.
The beauty is that if you put in a 100% effort on the rower for 25 seconds, rest for 2 minutes then repeat several times you will be tired, humbled but very pleased with yourself whether you are Usain Bolt or Maud Boggins.
And so you should be. You’ll get fitter, more powerful, stronger mentally and your body composition will improve. That’s what max effort sprints do.
